As shimmer celebrates its fifth anniversary, it's time for a bit of reflection and a whole lot of excitement! Can you believe it's been five years already? Neither can I! But here we are, ready to shake things up and dive into the next chapter of our beauty adventure.
In the midst of this celebration, I've found myself taking stock of where we've been and where we're headed. The past five years have been a whirlwind of growth and discovery, but they've also been a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence and evolution. And what better way to mark this occasion than by revisiting our top five favorite products?
The last time I shared my favorites was back in 2020, and oh, how much has changed since then! It’s time to reassess! From tried-and-true classics to shiny new discoveries, these products have earned a special place in my heart (and my makeup bag).
I refuse to run out of this product to the extent that I took TWO bottles home last time I restocked! It’s the ultimate multi-purpose product.
I apply this every morning after my moisturizer, but before I do my makeup. Ingredients like Quinoa Seed Extract, Niacinamide and Pea Extract, allows this unique lightweight formula to smoothe skin and boost radiance instantly and over time. It’s my favorite sunscreen I’ve ever used on my face and it add the most beautiful, subtle glow. On most days, it acts as a primer under my makeup, helping it last all day long. On days I’m not doing a full face, it gives me sheer coverage and a bit of a glow. Perfection in a bottle.
Speaking of moisturizer, you’ll recognize this product from my Top Five list back in 2020! My obsession with this daily moisturizer has not changed! The Skin Dew is specifically formulated for dehydrated skin and is the first product to solve my issue with tight, dry skin after showering. It’s lightweight and perfect for layering under makeup. Its barely there scent vanishes after your skin soaks this formula right up. It’s been a top-seller the entire time my shop as been open.
This mascara sold out three times in March alone! Granted, much of that is because we were lucky enough to feature this on a recent episode of Chronicle on WCVB 5, but it’s a top-seller all year long. For anyone with sensitive eyes, this gentle formula is a must-try. It’s filled with ingredients like bayberry wax and horsetail extract to help the health of your lashes instead of just covering them up. Remember, the term “waterproof” is just a marketing tactic, but this formula is water resistant, so perfect for everyday wear and this magical wand never lets those pesky clumps form!
I added this to my routine this Winter when my skin was extra dry and I was feeling like it looked a bit dull. Within the first few uses, my skin was already brighter and retaining moisture better.
I’ve never used a concealer that melts so perfectly into my skin. A common issue I’ve heard women express about using concealer as spot treatment, is that it doesn’t blend well enough to not highlight the areas they’re trying to hide! This won’t be an issue with the RMS Uncoverup. You can use this with your foundation or as a hydrating, subtle layer on top of dark circles, redness or anything other imperfections you’re looking to hide and it’ll look like your real skin. Plus, a little goes a long way! I opened my current jar one year ago and I’m only halfway through!
